NEW RAD SURF FITNESS TREND

Life can play nasty tricks on you at times. Fall in love with the wrong person, get into crippling debt, shoot one past the keeper when you weren’t necessarily planning of having kids, and your surf days could well be limited!

But for those who have found themselves land-locked for extended periods of times, there’s fortunately now plenty comfort to be sought in a new awesome surf fitness craze that’s been blazing its way across the U.S. of A. for a couple years now.

The machine you see here in the above photo is called the RipSurfer X, made by Surf Set Fitness, and  consists of an actual surfboard fixed on top of an inflatable ball on which fitness-goers are able to practice real surf moves like paddling, jumping to one’s feet, etc. And with seascape images projected onto surrounding walls you can even pull into the pit to the sound of crashing water on the sound-system. Wave pools are so dead!

But before you diss this as just another fleeting misguided trend, it’s worth bearing in mind that this is exactly how 3-time world champion Mick Fanning finally managed to bag his first world title, refusing to travel anywhere without the comfort of his balance board or swiss fitness ball. So put that in your virtual pipe and smoke it!
