Now there’s a headline we weren’t expecting to write, ever.
The Heritage Series continues, in Bells’ case, the final featuring two classic characters, former world champs both (twice in Dooma’s case).
But just in case 50 year old men creaking down the line at a fat, onshore Bells doesn’t grab you (what’s wrong with you?) there’s actually a whole lotta bonus heritage, too.
Like, a wee Maurice Cole interview. (For those who ain’t done studied your lessons, legendary shaper, reverse vee, Curren Haleiwa board 91, La Graviere pioneer, ‘n shit).
There’s the ever dry/curmurdgeonly Simon Anderson in the booth (man who kinda totally invented the thruster).
There’s even a mea culpa Kelly interview, too.
Meanwhile, Bells (mercifully) gave us day off on Tues, having completed Rd 3 on Easter Monday. Rookies-wise, Conner, Caio and Cathels are still in. World no. 1, Wilko is still in. Fanning is still in.
Forecast-wise, we’re not sure. Haven’t looked. Why amp yourself up, raise the expectation, and then set yourself up for something of a disappointment?
Better to just let your WSL iPhone app (which is actually, pretty rad, no?) let you know when it’s on again. Don’t expect, don’t hope. It’s the hope that kills.
