The final day of this year’s Volcom Pipe Pro saw another spectacular day of surfing with insane late drops and deep pits at the Banzai. Event winner Kelly Slater claimed it “was some of the best Pipe I’ve ever surfed in my life. There were some really gnarly, intense, kind of vicious waves…”

And with vicious waves comes vicious wipeouts, of which there were plenty too! And while the North Shore season’s not yet done, surf fans will now have to wait another 10 months before they get to see the world’s best tackle the world’s heaviest wave.
