It’s official: dolphins don’t like stand-up paddleboarders. What the above footage depicts is not an isolated incident, but just the latest in a string of savage cetacean attacks directed at the stand-up paddle community.

Of course, we’re not saying the dolphins are right to dislike SUPs and their riders so vehemently. We’re not saying we condone such a hostile and violent approach.

We’re not saying that at all.

But they have been roaming the seas for far longer than us. The line-up is their natural habitat, and after millions of years of evolution, they are perfectly adapted to it. When it comes to wave-riding methods and techniques, surely their opinion must count for something?
