As the situation goes from uncomfortable to just plain painful during Europe’s first serious extended flat spell this summer, French ripper Maxime Huscenot reminds us of good times this spring in Les Landes, a time when there were actually waves!

This winter’s series of huge storms having completely rearranged the coastline, the combination of huge swells and extreme high tides meant there was more than enough sand going around to form new amazing sand banks.

So when the ocean finally did calm down a bit and the offshores started puffing, Hossegor and surrounding beachies south turned on for local standouts Maxime Huscenot and Vincent Duvignac and some all-time tunnel time.
