Yesterday we posted one of the heaviest wipeouts we’ve seen all winter – local Maui charger Dege O’Connell getting pounded at Jaws and then raced to the hospital with a gnarly leg injury. Then this morning this popped up in our Vimeo feed, filmed the same very day only 16 miles off the south coast of Tasmania. Holy fucksticks! How these madmen get away with this shit is just beyond us, but what made us smile most was the way you see James Hollmer-Cross teaing up a lung dart in his post-wipeout interview – clearly not that concerned with the whole intensive breath-holding fitness training practised by other big wave crew then?
