With the surf exceptionally slow and smaller for this year’s Fiji Pro, fans and surfers’ expectations for a 2013 re-run were dealt a hard blow, especially seeing as other events this year have hardly had much more luck.
So when the event wrapped up and there was still no sign of swell on the horizon most competitors chose to bounce (the islands not exactly being a cheap place to hang out!). That is bar two peeps, Kelly and Parko, who decided to hang tight.
With nothing else on, they knew was only a matter of time of course and last week finally saw a good sized southwest swell for the region perk up, delivering the finest 8-foot barrels at Cloudbreak for just a handful of crew.
