Mother Nature’s a cruel mistress, this we all know. A week or two ago she turned up at Waimea several hours ahead of schedule and made Quik and its decision not to run the Eddie look a little silly. Then yesterday, with the light glaring green and the scaffolding erect, she dawdled and dallied and by the time she finally arrived, big but maybe not Eddie big, the party had been cancelled.
