Following our Hidden Lives piece on the Basque Country charger and down-to-earth all-round cool dude, Indar Unanue has just released another new short profile film project ‘Between Two Seas’.
With travel budgets being cut by sponsors left, right and centre, pros have just got to make do with what they’ve got and for Indar that’s meant a lot less travel lately, or at least fewer long haul flights to exotic far-flung destinations. Hence the idea of spotting a big winter low in the Mediterranean and chasing it.
His dad having moved to the island of Formentera in the Balearics when he was a kid, Indar said he’d grown up spending his summers out there but surfing had always been a strictly North Atlantic affair. Zarautz, home to much of Spain’s hotbed of surfing talent, is where he learnt to shred as a teenager and as his surfing took off there were less time to return to the Med. Until one day an old portrait of him as a boy hanging from his bedroom wall set of a sudden desire to return to his childhood holiday destination and rediscover it from a whole new perspective.
