Holy scheiße yesterday was good at the Volcom Pipe Pro. Pipeline scarcely gets any better — commentator Dave Wassell reckoned it was the best he’d seen it in two years; Kelly said it was “easily the best Pipe of the year . . . it’s incredible”. Disbelief was indeed the dominant note throughout yesterday’s webcast, among commentators and competitors alike; all were just stoked to be a part of it. Watch the highlights above by all means, but you’re only mugging yourself off if you don’t scoot over to the heat analyzer forthwith. Check John John’s and Jack Robinson’s heats at the very least, because those two were on another plane altogether, and John’s 9.5 — probs the best wave of the whole day, Zeke’s 10 notwithstanding —  doesn’t seem to have made the cut here, somehow.
