When the swell of the decade hits Bali, everyone who's within striking distance and possessed of the requisite cojones wants a piece of it. In typical Balinese fashion, the traffic congesting the Padang Padang highway was treacherous; all manner of motoring offences were committed, and neither surfboard nor bodyboard comes equipped with a rubber horn to alert fellow road users to one's presence. But there was also some expert piloting on display, particularly on the part of the local contingent, who steered their way through tunnel after tunnel with deft aplomb.
