So it got big in the Canary Islands on Tuesday.

Like, really fucken big.

While John John was wrapping up his maiden world title in Portugal, a thousand miles or so to the southeast, off Africa's Atlantic coast, Natxo Gonzalez, Zumo, Nagai Puntiverio, Lewis Leadbetter and pals were pitting their wits against Outer Reef La Santa and some of the most humungous waves you ever saw on Canarian shores. By the next day the swell had dropped to a more reasonable size, so the boys headed to el Quemao and got tunnelled silly.

A solid few days' work!
