Big Wave Surfing In . . . The Mediterranean?

Well blow us down! It turns out that the Mediterranean Sea, home sometimes to delightful head-high peaks but more often to forgettable bumps of windy mush, also harbours a big wave spot. Incroyable! But where? Not in France, apparently. Or could the title be a deliberate attempt to throw us off the scent? Why not, ‘This Is Not Belgium’, or Cambodia, or Stoke, or any of the other countries where it is not? Methinks the Frenchman doth protest too much. The Frenchman in question is one time SE staff photographer Alex Laurel; his subject is slightly French man Eric Rebière, whose weapon of choice is a 9’6. Who’d have thunk?
