For the last two months or so The Dark Eye has arguably copped the longest back-to-back run of swell ever. It just hasn’t stopped. But not only has their been a ridiculous amount of well-oriented long-interval juice bending into the famed known-to-be-fickle river-mouth, balmy south winds have also puffed consistently offshore during that whole time.
In fact, end of November Eneko Acero was already calling it “the best run of Mundaka swell for the last eight years as far as consistency and clean conditions went.”
And while we’re uncertain as to what last week’s Hercules swell might have done to the already deteriorating sandbanks, this latest GoPro video edit from just before last week’s mega swell suggests there was still plenty tubular fun to be had.
