Another angle on Eric Geiselman’s nasty Pipe beating as reported yesterday, showing exactly how vital South African bodyboarder Andre Botha’s role was in saving the young Floridian’s life.

“His face was a dark blue purple colour, his eyes rolled back and he was foaming at the mouth and then his eyes came back with this empty look,” said Andre on MagicSeaweed. “The closest thing I can compare it to is when I saw my dog get put down. They gave the lethal injection and the eyes just go sort of blank… I was convinced the guy was dead at that point.”

Massive respect to the former 2 x World Bodyboarding champ for his efforts, and a timely reminder to all of us how important a bit of CPR training – as well as keeping an eye out for each other – is.
