Adrian Buchan and Matthew Wilkinson hail from the same town on the NSW ‘mid-cenny coast’, and are both goofyfoots, but that’s about where the similarities end.

One, Ace, is a clean, cut, articulate, professional athlete cum scholar with two WCT wind under his belt (France and Tahiti), while the other, Wilko, is a red-faced, pony-tailed lothario.

Cynics among you might remark unkindly along the lines of, “He’s chubby, ugly and has a lisp, if he weren’t a pro surfer he wouldn’t be getting much ass…”

But he is, and he is.

Anyway, Red Bull’s latest 21 Days clip features the contrasting preparations the lads are undertaking for the 2014 WCT; Ace trying to get his injured plate back to health while representing good causes and generally being the kind of pro surfer your mum would like, while Wilko, perturbed from having nearly been kicked off tour (again), has enlisted the help of top coach/tour savant Andy King in order to take his preparations a bit more seriously.

While neither of these guys are likely to mount a serious (or funny) World Title challenge in 2014, the tour would be a worse place without them. Here’s why:
