Tearing Me A New One

Holy Cow!

Thank bumfoolery the tempest finally abated. After a couple of weeks nearly of pissing rain and howling winds I was starting to think of moving back home to Shetland in search of some nicer weather, but today at least things calmed right down, and that’s just great.

Really great.

All you can hear around Capb/Hoss at the mo is the sound of chainsaws whirring in anger. BBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! all day long. That’s the sound of boucherons trying to liberate the good people’s homes, motors and lawns from the weight of soggy pine trees. There are fallen trees everywhere and the electricity in some parts still aint been switched back on.

One big pine got ripped in two about half way up the trunk in the garden behind ours, which is weird coz usually they rip at the roots or big branches rip off, it’s unusual to see half a trunk. Anyway, today there were all manner of tweety birds feasting on whatever grubby/sappy/barky delights contained within. The dickies don’t care about insurance excess, adding few bits on that were already bust for good measure, etc, etc. All they care about is getting food for themselves and their chicks. If I had any chicks I’d be concerned about their food intake too, but I havent, so I’m not.

In the cherry tree in our yard, some other lil tweeties, goldfinches I believe (I used to be I the Y.O.C, the junior wing (soz) of the RSPB) were mange-ing on the emerging buds and drinking a bit of sappy nectar. It was really warm and sunny today, so the birds were loving that shit after weeks of gnarly windy miller. The surf was also really good today. I surfed twice and by the end of the second session, what with all that time in my rubber get up, I stunk of piss. Maybe that’s the real reason I’m in a good mood, an nice even body coating of uriney.

Anyhows, after leclerc I passed by the capb seafront tonight to watch the sunset. it was ace. the sea was all glassy glassy and looked lush. mega high twattle waves bashed the seawall but in an orderly fashion and it warmed the heart to breath still air again. Man like Boris was there with his pooch called C-Dog. C-Dog is class. He was stoking on the calm atmosphere too. When a particualrly large wave hit the seawall he got scared and jumped off the wall, but soon wagged his tail again when boris reassured him.

The waxing cresent moon looked amazing tonight, and Venus was glowing big and proud just next to him, up and left a bit. After all that gazing at the great western horizon I felt really poetic and came home and cried a bit in the kitchen.

Gros bisous!
