Hello dear friends!!!
What a amazing week we had here in Hawaii. The big swell that hit the island was consistent enough to bring 20 foot plus surf with good conditions for two days in a roll!!! The Eddie was blessed once again and I was very happy that I had a chance to surf on the event for the first time in my life. I have to admit that I never had such a format on big waves event. Like the ocean, the Eddie is a totally out of control format. You’ve a chance to surf twice and at the same time your scores will compete with every others surfers. And because you can not control mother nature, who ever gets the best heats on the waves matter will have a advantage. But that what makes this event even more special. It is the most traditional and special event because it’s legacy for 25 straight year!!! Eddie would GO!!!!
Aloha and good waves for everybody !!!
Carlos Burle
Kelly was on fire on his first round… 98 was his score on this wave!!!
Garrett Macnamara went big on some bombs !!!
I had this gnarly drop on my second round and I”ll never forget it !!!
Specially because after connecting the wave trough the shore break I end up having on of the worst beatings of my life… next morning I was coughing sand and blood !!!
I solo wave at Waimea… that can only happen at the Eddie !!! Myself …
Jamie O’ Brien trying to pull in !!!
Massive shore break and the crowd at the back !!!
Few waves went through with out surfers !!!
I had a warm up one day before the event!!!
Kelly and myself with friends at Waimea!!!
30 thousand people at the beach to watch the event !!!
