Tim Boal turned 30 the other day and celebrated it with a wee sesh at Miramar in Biarritz this weekend. The sun shone bright and true, the gnarly pollution seemed to have cleaned itself up and a proud little pulse of NWness lit up SW France. Some rushed to Hossegor town for a chance at a glory hole. But not Tim Boal. He rolled out of bed and padded down the diamond-paved streets of Biarritz and set about the friendly sun soaked, peaks to release his tail and rudders with the satisfaction of that guy in the 70’s releasing the grizzly cub he’d bottle fed back into the boreal Canadian forests.
