Summer means Town on Oahu, where the big southern hemis propagate up from the bottom of the world and light up the opposite shores than we are accustomed to seeing celebrated. This summer, several notable sessions went down at Ala Moana Bowls in Waikiki, particularly this one, as shooter Ryan Foley recalls. “That swell, hmmm I don’t remember much. It was pretty hyped and all the boys were down there. Derek always gets his share of waves along with the other Ho’s. Bowls is a grinding wave, heavy, shallow. It works from 1ft until the channel closes out. One of the heaviest waves in Town for sure.”
