On the road looking for waves in ICELAND is brutal.  It’s freezing cold, windy, rainy, and there is no food except WHALE MEAT or GAS STATION HOT DOGS.  We ate so many of those fucking gas station hot dogs that we actually went crazy and almost died from a rare disease called MEAT BLOOD.  It’s when you eat so much processed scrap meat, animal parts, and chemical preservatives that your blood actually congeals inside your still beating heart and you explode from the inside.  It almost happened to one of our cameramen but luckily he puked before it could fully set in.

 

Also – my super 16mm camera literally froze to death at the foot of a glacier we were shooting surfing at.  Luckily it worked long enough to get this shot of DION rotating amongst the chill.
