Surfing’s number one (and only) radio show is back for a whole new year!
You can rely on the ‘Ain’t That Swell’ pairing of Jed Smith and Vaughan Dead to bring you all the lowdown from the world of surf, complete with a few low blows and plenty of low-brow tomfoolery. The first episode of 2015 is a Hawaiian special, and they’ve got the very funny Jason Crombie in the studio. This here be what they said about it:
“With Jed Smith fresh back from his maiden six week stint on the North Shore of Oahu, talk turns to the various myths and legends of surfing’s ultimate proving ground.
For this we’re joined by guest host and Monster Children editor-in-chief, Jason Crombie, who also made his North Shore debut this winter.
Topics include: The man, the legend, the Medina; something Robert Allenby and Vaughan-Dead have in common; Mark Foo’s Waimea Backpackers; the multi-talented Dustin Barca; and the Haole plague (also the subject of Jed’s Angry).
We pay our respects to the legendary heavy-wave specialist, Ricardo Dos Santos. RIP hellman. You will be missed.
A Joel Parkinson led Snapper Rocks boardriders takes out the National Boardriding championships, Tyler Wright ends up in a pool, Ozzie Wright is a published author, and our top ten moments from 2014.”
