FCS congratulates Kelly Slater and Layne Beachley as 2006 ASP world champions. Layne and Kelly are both known for their amazing surfing ability and competitive spirit. Neither Layne nor Kelly would ever compromise the performance of their surfboard for anything or anyone, this is why it is such a powerful testimony to have them both choose to ride FCS.

Kelly has been riding FCS for the past 10 years, notably riding FCS fins in his 1997, 2005 and 2006 world championship years and says, “I use FCS because I have been able to rely on it for nearly ten years, all around the world, in all conditions, big and small. It allows me to get more out of my boards than glass-ons ever did and to change with the conditions. I know a lot more about my boards’ performance than I knew before I could change my fins. This has opened up a whole new area for me in my surfing in many ways".

During his 2006 championship winning season Kelly was mostly riding either his FCS K2.1s or prototypes for his new FCS K3 fin. Kelly changed his fins depending on the conditions.

Layne has also been riding FCS for over a decade and had ridden FCS in all of her amazing 7 world title wins. Layne has been a huge fan of the FCS H-2 and more recently has worked with FCS to develop a Layne Beachley signature fin. Layne was riding H-2s and prototypes for her signature fin for most of her 2006 championship winning season.

Not only the ASP world champs ride FCS but the 2006 longboard world champ Josh Constable also rides FCS. He chooses an FCS Fluid Foils 6" dolphin fin with FCS GL side fins. 2006 world junior champion Kekoa Bacalso also chooses to ride FCS. As does the 2006 WQS champ Jeremy Flores.

Since the world wide release of FCS in 1995, 4 out of 5 men’s world champions have chosen to ride FCS, (Occy, Kelly, Sunny, CJ). FCS is the world standard fin system and most everyday surfers use FCS, because it’s reliable, easy to use, and available in every corner of the globe. But when the world’s best surfers use FCS to fine tune their equipment and gain a competitive edge, it demonstrates the real performance values of the system and the vast range of fins available.

Kelly’s FCS K3 will be available worldwide early 2007.

The FCS Layne Beachley signature fin will be available world wide mid 2007.
