The 3rd Annual North Shore Tow-In Surfing Championship 2006-2007 are ‘ON’ once again for the upcoming 2006/2007 Winter Big Wave Surf Season on Oahu in Hawaii. The holding period for the event will be December 15th, 2006 -March 31st, 2007, with the actual contest to take place ONE DAY ONLY on the biggest and best day of Surf on the Outer Reefs known as Avalanche and Puaena Point which are over a mile outside of Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii.
The confirmed minimum prize purse for this year’s event is $25,000. This figure could very well double or even triple by show time for this year’s North Shore Tow-In Surfing Event. The massive media attention that this milestone extreme big wave tow-in competition (which is the 1st ever APT world tour event) along with the developing news of a rapidly evolving world tour of tow-in surfing will generate to potential corporate advertisers and sponsors world-wide is HUGE!
This year, the APT (The Association of Professional Tow Surfers) has come on board as the Event Sanctioning Representative Body. The APT has created and now launched an ‘APT World Tour Tow-In Surfing Circuit’ for 2006-2007. Go to www.protowsurfers.org to check out more info on the APT and the World Tour of Tow-In Surfing!
The 3rd Annual North Shore Tow-In Surfing Championships 2006-2007 should be bigger and better than ever this year. With another planetary “El Nino” weather episode having begun in the Equatorial Pacific in October 2006, the waves should get massive in Hawaii during this year’s 2006-2007 Winter Big Wave Surf Season on Oahu.
