After being granted one of the fastest record-breaking planning permissions, it was thought that the North Wales' Wavegarden wave pool project might open as soon as this summer but, as usually goes with these things, the dates been pushed back a little.
Steve Davies MBE, Managing Director of Conwy Adventure Leisure, said: "We have been working hard to set our plans for the UK’s first Wavegarden in motion... Following some amendments to the site’s original layout, decided in light of additional site investigation and drilling, earth works are now planned to commence in February 2014."
So while earthworks are supposedly already underway and a total £7.7 million committed to seeing the project to fruition, Conwy Adventure Leisure's latest estimation is that the doors will now only open Easter 2015. Surf Snowdonia's website however is already up and running if you wish to stay updated on progress.
