SHIP SUNK AT CAVALIERS ANGLET

A Spanish freighter with 12 people on board has ran aground the morning at the surf break of Cavaliers at Anglet. The ship was just the latest victim in the run of storms that has hit  the Atlantic this winter. Luckily only one of the sailors onboard was injured when the ship suffered engine failure trying to get into the Port of Bayonne and then was cut it in half on the breakwall. A Polmar Plan (local plan against maritime pollution) is in place. So far no new banks have formed off the stern, but Surf Europe will be monitoring the situation.
