The awesome and much-celebrated Surfilmfestibal in San Sebastian kicks off for another annual edition next weekend 5th-8th June, always a sign that summer’s on its way. Yes, it’s time to kick back and drink in the latest in surfing’s rich and wonderful film culture. Here’s three highlights you’ll want to catch:
The Old, The Young and The Sea
A vibrant documentary about surfing in Europe and the rich diversity it’s come to encompass. Travelling down through France, Spain and on to Portugal on a classic roadie of sorts, the film uncovers an eclectic range of personalities from young, old, industry artisans, professionals and aspiring pros and their relation with riding waves.

Out In The Lineup
Two gay surfers unite to uncover the taboo of homosexuality in surfing. Together they embark on a global journey to speak with people from all corners of the surfing community about an aspect of surf culture that has until now remained largely secret.

Tierra De Patagones
Explore Chile’s wild southern extremity as two brothers by the name of Gauchos del Mar comb their way down the coast of Patagonia during six months in search of new waves, friends and the rich local culture.
