Funny how the french like to use the Royal word after some serious head chopping went down some three centuries ago, but that’s another story… let’s concentrate on surfing for this unique contest about to take place in the Landes region. It is our equivalent of the Backdoor shoot out, a one day-er with the best local surfers invited during a 3 months waiting period ie from now until end of november ie again the best season here in the south west of France.

It is actually the 4th edition, previous winners include: Jean Seb Etienne (2007), Fabrice Gelez (2008) and Fred Robin (2009).

It is only about barrels, barriques in french, and you can actually vote for who you think will win it this year. Actually vote for who you think will be crowned…who will be King?
