Two intense weeks of surfing are coming up for this year’s Latin Tour Title. Two major six-star events will take place in Chile and Peru and are essential for those who are striving to be the Latin Champions.
From February 16-18, in Viña del Mar, Chile, Reñaca’s waves will receive the Reef Classic Latin Pro Chile. Then from 23-25 February, the legendary Punta Rocas waves in Chile will be home to the Reef Classic Latin Pro Perú. Both contests have on offer $34,000 in cash prizes and a priceless 12,000 rating points.
One stage of the Open Pro division, the Reef Classic Latin Pro Argentina, has already been held earlier this month, with Diego Medina from Chile crowned the current rating leader. He’s sure to be competing to try and defend his leadership on the waves in front of his home crowd.
More than 80 surfers from 12 countries will compete in both events. The Chilean event will have a special Night Airshow on Thursday 15th, with a twilight event for the best Latin Surfers to show their air abilities and win $3,000.
