Quiksilver and Roxy congratulate team-riders Jeremy Flores, Gabriel Villaran and Rosie Hodge on their recent medal wins at the ISA World Surfing Games. The ISA World Surfing Games was held in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica August 1-8, 2009 and brought together over 180 surfers from 34 countries to compete in an Olympic-class event for the sport of surfing.
Quiksilver team-rider Jeremy Flores clinched the gold medal in the Men’s Shortboard competition. His points helped carry his French team on to take the overall team silver medal. Gabriel Villaran of Peru finished third in the Men’s Shortboard for the bronze medal.
In the Women’s Shortboard division, South African Roxy team-rider Rosie Hodge finished second with a silver medal. Roxy team-rider and former World Champion Sofia Mulanovich of Peru narrowly missed the finals to finish fifth place overall.
Quiksilver and Roxy sponsor the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships, an event that draws together Under 18 surfers from around the world to compete in an Olympic-class event. Quiksilver and the ISA recently announced the 2010 ISA World Junior Surfing Championships will be held at Piha in Auckland, New Zealand January 20-28, 2010.
