Quiksilver King of the Groms World Final Starts Today

The final of the Quiksilver King of the Groms kicks off today in Capbreton and the line-up for this international surfing competition is starting to take shape. The 2007 King of the Groms final will take place from Tuesday July 31st, until Sunday August 5th at the Santocha Beach in Capbreton, France.

The international qualifying tour for the final looked for the best young surfers in all continents. In each region (Europe, Australia, USA, Indonesia, South Africa, Tahiti, Japan, Reunion, South America and Saint Martin making its debut in the European series this year), mini-championships have been held, enabling local surfers to qualify for the final event.

In Europe, 13 stages (including three in France) were scheduled in seven countries. The top three surfers in the European rankings will win a ticket to the final in Capbreton. 16 selected surfers have qualified directly for the final in Capbreton, as seeds.

Stay tuned to for all the action.
