Quiksilver ‘CHASING THE DREAM’ to Premiere AT SANTA BARBARA FILM FESTIVAL

Quiksilver and Metalstorm Entertainment will premiere their new film “Chasing the Dream” at the 2007 Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday, January 27th at 4:30pm.

Chasing the Dream is a candid and raw portrayal of eight High School teens trying to obtain the near impossible; a career in professional surfing. These kids have dreams of competing on the Association of Surfing Professional’s World Championship Tour (WCT), of which only 44 men in the world qualify for every year, and only one claims the most sought after title of all; World Champion. Follow these teens as they steer through the ranks of scholastic surfing while dealing with life’s pressures, overbearing parents, a demanding school curriculum and a once in a lifetime trip to Australia that will separate the ones who surf from the ones who win.

“Chasing the Dream” features a broad spectrum of professional surfing legends; from the most elite world champions such as Mark Richards, Kelly Slater, and Andy Irons, to the child prodigies that have been consumed by the gauntlet of the World Championship Tour’s vicious obstacles. Narrated by none other than The Masochist (“Big Wednesday”) himself, GARY BUSEY, “Chasing the Dream” is a coming-of-age story about kids trying to succeed in the highly competitive world of professional surfing and in life.
