Paraplegic Duct Tape Surfer Dies At 52

Paraplegic surfer Pascale Honore has died aged 52 in Gold Coast University Hospital, Australia.

The French-born mother of two lost the use of her legs in a car accident in South Australia eighteen years ago, but was determined to live a full and active life in spite of her injuries. One of the ways she did this was duct taped to the back of her sons’ friend Ty Swan, who used to take her surfing on the south coast. The odd couple became a viral sensation in the process, and no doubt inspired many who had suffered similar injuries.

Honore, who moved to Byron Bay several years ago, and spent several months in hospital there earlier this year, died of a twisted bowel after undergoing surgery around a week ago. Our thoughts go out to her friends and family.
