O’Neill will kick off the 2006 World Cup of Surfing at the Hard Rock Cafe in Honolulu on November 24th. Doors open at 9:00pm. You must be 21 years or older to attend.

The O’Neill World Cup of Surfing event is a 6-star WQS prime contest and constitutes the second part of the prestigious Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.

It is due to take place between November 24th and December 6th, 2006, at Sunset Beach Park, Oahu where ASP’s top WQS and WCT male surfers will be battling it out for the $125,000 prize purse.

In the contest the cream of the world’s surfers, 44 men and 18 women, will compete fiercely among the “green tunnels” of Sunset Beach.

The venue was carefully selected, both for its accessibility to viewers and the exciting surfing it provides, offering a massive ski-slope drop and a draining inside barrel.

A sizable channel and an expansive line up complete the perfect surf qualities of this beach.
