The North Shore’s winter season has got underway with the 2009 Xcel Pro Presented By Honolua returning to Sunset Beach in challenging 15’+ waves. In a tough final heat of 4 Sunset specialists, 23-year-old Hank Gaskell showed poise, patience, and smart wave selection to edge out runner-up and defending champion Pancho Sullivan, third place Myles Padaca, and fourth place finisher Shane Beschen.
