Bralizian Jadson André dominated the final day of competition in Portugal to claim the Cascais Billabong Prime. A perfect 10-point ride cemented his victory over Santa Barbara junior talent Conner Coffin while also securing Jadson's re-qualification on tour for 2014.
"This is amazing, Portugal is a very special place for me," Andre stated. "I was ISA world champion here, when I qualified in 2009 I was 100% sure after the Azores and right now I was needing a big result and a win over here is going to be really important again. I've been training a lot, working out and trying a lot of boards, so to win that contest is a special moment."
Conner Coffin, on the other hand, now also finds himself within reach of qualification if the powerful natural footer can somehow secure one more solid result in Hawaii.
With Jeremy Flores falling to eventual winner Jadson André in the semis, the result was still enough to earn him the ASP Europe title for 2013.
"I didn't come here expecting to fight for that title, all the European surfers have been surfing amazing all year," Flores continued. "I think there should be more on tour, they've been surfing next level ! I want to dedicate this trophy to my grandfather who passed away just recently."
Meanwhile it was Adam Melling, with his quarter final finish, who got to walk away with the 50 grand as overall leader of the Moche Series.
All heads will now turn to Hawaii for the hotly-anticipated final straight. For final day video highlights see below:
