Island Style sponsor new event on the British Professional Surfing Association UK tour at Praa Sands, Cornwall. The date set for this inaugural event will be flexible between 28th October and 3rd November surf dependant, the first call will be made on Thursday 26th at midday.
Last year the tour found home on the Isle of Wight as part of the White Air Festival but due to inconsistent surf and the recent cancellation of the North East BPSA event, Praa Sands on Cornwall’s south coast has been nominated to take its place.
The location at Praa boasts hollow beach-break peaks which will please all the surfers on tour, in fact back in 1999 the women’s ASP World Championship Tour paid a visit to Praa for their British event due to flat conditions on the north coast.
Praa Sands will be the 7th event on tour this year and will allow the competition to heat up once again for the title race, with Ruebin Pearce out front will anyone step up to steal his crown?
Island Style UK distributor Jason Ross said “Island Style is continuing its support for top level surfing, many high performance surfers use Island Style accessories as a matter of choice, we wish to provide additional incentive for surfers to raise their own performance level by sponsoring this event”
Elsewhere at the event, Fosters will be bringing their beer and their Barbie to feed and water the competitors with the help of Relentless Energy drink. Freerange will be putting up £250 for the best Tailsliding manoeuvre, which was won by Alan Stokes last year.
As always a massive thanks goes out to all the sponsors, especially Island Style as title sponsors and tour sponsors Foster’s, Relentless and Freerange Sports Optics.
