One of the most promising surfing talents in Europe, the German Nicolau Von Rupp has signed with the Nike 6.0 team. After graduating from school this year, the 18-year-old German surfer is ready to take his surfing to the next level. Growing up in Portugal like German compatriot and WCT competitor Marlon Lipke, his goals for 2009 include “[competing] in the ASP Pro Juniors in Europe and hopefully getting some good results at the World Qualifying Series (WQS) in order to make it onto the WCT.” With his happy-go-lucky, rock n’ roll personality to stand him in good stead, Von Rupp joins other Nike 6.0 team riders Charly Martin, Naum Ildefonse, Hector Menendez, Lyndon Wake and Toby Donachie.
