DANE NABS QUIK PRO FRANCE WILDCARD

“The hand feels much better, thanks.”

Uncertain as to whether the Dane Reynolds will really be able to surf at the Hurley Pro following a hand fracture he suffered in the Mentawais, fans of Reynolds will be pleased to hear he’s been awarded another wildcard entry into the Quiksilver Pro France, due to kick off in just two weeks time.

After achieving his best contest result to date by making the finals at last year’s Quik Pro edition (falling short to Slater during a marathon final day), it would admittedly have been difficult to award the wildcard spot to anyone else.

In other wildcard news, former Basque WCT competitor Aritz Aranburu (who could requalify this year) has also earned a spot into this year’s Quik Pro and reportedly itching to shine in what hopefully will be very familiar La Graviere sand holes.

Other previous wildcard contender Marc Lacomare won’t compete in this year’s event, choosing to stay focused on his world tour qualification campaign for 2014.

And as if that wasn’t enough, don’t forget that this year’s Quik Pro will also see the Roxy Pro run in parallel after being rescheduled due to lack of waves in July!

Lee-Ann Curren, another local favourite you can expect to see in the lineup this September.
