CORNISH PREMIERE OF ‘COMPASSING’ AND ‘BOOTLEG’ TOMORROW NIGHT

Approaching Lines is proud to present a special charity screening and Cornish Premiere double bill of two highly anticipated surf movies Compassing from multi-award-winning director Cyrus Sutton and Bootleg a project from former world champion and celebrated longboard revolutionary Joel Tudor.

The screenings take place this Friday 27th September at Blue Bar, Porthtowan. Tickets are only £5, with all proceeds going to Team GB’s crowdfunder to support their title bid at the World Longboard Championships in Peru.

“The team representing Britain at the games includes Ben Skinner, ranked number 1 in Europe and Adam Griffiths ranked Number 2 so the chance of a podium finish is high,” says Approaching Lines co-founder, Chris Nelson. “Incredibly there is currently no funding available for surfing so the team is self-financed. With their crowdfunder they aim not only to represent Britain at this prestigious event but also to invest in the next generation so we’re proud to be supporting their cause.”

From the EMMY award winning filmmaker Cyrus Sutton, Compassing is the much anticipated follow up to ‘Stoked & Broke’. Cutting, sanding, welding, and staining his old van Cyrus transformed it into a unique camper to traverse the Western side of North America to seek out good waves and good people.

The second film in the double-bill, ‘Bootleg’ is an original concept from Director George Trimm and Joel Tudor. Blending a collage of surfing from the planet’s most stylish waveriders with a jamming soundtrack, raw energy and stunning cinematography this is a must-see film.

The evening is a pre-event shin-dig for the 5 to 1 Fin Far which will be going down at Porthtowan Beach Saturday 28th September.
