Mada is proud to announce…WCT stand out Bede Durbidge has joined the team! At the age of 24 Bede has quickly made his mark in the world of elite surfing, over the past three years he has carved out a comfortable place for himself in the top 10 with no signs of slowing down. At the beginning of the 07 season Bede turned his back on the corporate surfing world and set out to compete on the WCT on his own terms, and his own dime, with no major sponsor.

At the opening event at Snapper Rocks he put on the gloves and got to work, taking down everyone in his path all the way to the final, including 8 time world champ Kelly Slater in an incredible semi final. After his dominant performance lucrative offers started to come in. Rather than take the first offer that came his way he waited for the right opportunity that would provide him with more than just the money to continue his pursuit of a world title, but an opportunity to be a key figure in a brand that is about to explode much like he did at the Superbank earlier this year.

Throughout the course of the year Bede has made it quite clear that he is fully capable of competing on an elite level on his own terms.
