Some 400 million years ago the amphibians were born when a “fish” named Tiktaalik, belonging to the Sarcoptergii decided it was time to crawl onto land.
Quite a progressive concept for the time, it is this spirit of progression which has inspired a new line – Amph.
Amph is a platform from which creativity and progression can develop. From surfers to artists, the Amph Series will encourage experimentation and will provide a stage to showcase the progress of everyone involved.
Pushing the sport of surfing in the name of Amph are Charly Martin, Christophe Allary, Hugo Savalli and Justin Mujica. The four surfers form part of The Amph Program – dedicated to breaking the boundaries of surfing with radical and progressive tricks. With no rules or limitations, the riders will be pushing themselves on the best waves around the world in order to bring something fresh to the sport.
Back from an awe-inspiring surf trip to Bali, the Amph riders will be at The O’Neill Highland Open presented by Swatch, where Amph – encouraging creativity, inspiration and experimentation – will be looking throughout the week to award the most progressive trick in the surf.
Constantly influenced by young up-and-coming artists, who will also be given a platform through Amph, the collection boasts a mixture of surf and urban lifestyle pieces and inspirations. The progressive nature of Amph is reflected in the products themselves, featuring highly technical board shorts and innovative use of colours.
Whether it’s the latest artist involved in the line, or the inspirational riding of the Amph riders, this spirit and encouragement of progression is embodied in every aspect of The Amph Series.
Amph will arriving in March.
