In a press release issued this morning, Rip Curl is ecstatic to announce a renewed multi-year partnership with longtime female pro team ripper and brand ambassador Alana Blanchard.
Alana, who’s mainstream exposure and social network following has rocketed higher than any other professional surfer, continues to enjoy one of the highest profiles in surfing and sport in general (voted the ‘Sexiest woman in sport’ by Men’s Health magazine in 2011).
A perennial member of the ASP Women’s WCT, her relationship with Rip Curl now dates back an impressive 10 years, when Alana at just 14 years of age competed in the NSSA at her home break, Pinetrees, in Kauai, Hawaii, and who then also went into her professional modelling career the following year.
“I’m so excited to be renewing with my long time partner Rip Curl. They’re like family to me,” commented Alana, as she prepared to compete at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach this week.
For Rip Curl, the feeling couldn’t be more mutual. “After 10 years with us, we’re really stoked to have Alana re-sign for another long term. We love her at Rip Curl, she is a very important surfer to us,” said Marketing Chairman Neil Ridgway.
