Natxo Gonzalez’ Big Wave Guns 0 – Iberia Baggage Handlers 3

Basque big wave loon Natxo Gonzalez headed to Chile for the biggest swell of the season, packing a trusty quiver of Pukas/Alex Lorenz rhino chasers for the job.

Alas, Iberia, Spain’s national airline of less than stellar repute, had other ideas than ensuring the safe passage of his beloved rafts, somehow managing to snap his 10’4″, 9’6″ and 7’4″ in two.

10’4, 9’6 and 7,4. @iberia Have you thrown them from a seventh floor? Not easy to break this kind of boards….

Arriving in Santiago de Chile for a massive swell and this is how the boards came out… Thanks @iberia !

What are we to conclude from this latest episode of an increasingly common story? That baggage handlers don’t like Everton Mints? That it’s time someone invented a hardshell boardbag? That shit happens to pros just as it does to you and I? Maybe.

If you’ve got hate in your heart for Iberia, or any other airline, be sure to let em know.
