Idiocy: The Shark Attack Wetsuit

Europe has been a hot-bed of design and innovation for centuries. Many things that we now take for granted were thought up on this fine continent. For example, Penicillin, Pencils, Television and The Shark Attack Wetsuit. Yup, Dutchman Diddo Velema has produced possibly the most ridiculous wetsuit design ever in the world. In his defence, Velema told Metro, “Wetsuits are both functional and protective, but why must they all look the same? Is there some unwritten law that dictates we shed our individuality to blend into the monotone waters?”

His design, seen here, has received a pretty tepid reception from the surfing community, attracting the following reviews:

“dumbest idea for a product I have ever seen”

“I would say by wearing this suit will only results in three things: you will probably freeze since the effort went into aesthetics, your risk of social alienation is guaranteed and your risk of getting punched in the nose by other people in the line-up will go up a thousand-fold,”

“Then again, if you are stupid enough to wear this, you are destined for a good beating regardless.”
