HOW TO: Make a Rehydration Solution
Dehydration can vary from being a bit unpleasant to death (5 million 0-4 year old children die from diarrhoea and related dehydration in the world per year.) One common cause is diarrhoea, another is drinking too much alcohol and not enough water. If you’re suffering from severe dehydration in Indo for example, where you quite conceivably might be exposed to each of these three afflictions, you want the quickest solution to get you back in the shack, and quicker than just water is a simple solution of common household items:
Quick Rehydration Solution 1 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of baking soda 3 tablespoons of sugar 1 litre of water
Stir well, then bosch that litre down in steady sips (don’t scull it – danger of spewing). Wait until your wee wee has gone from dark brown back to clear, and then get back in the line-up.
