10’6” x 21 1⁄4” x 3 1⁄2 Rob Vaughan
The one I’m carrying with Shane is my back up board that I left on the shore that day, a 10’3” shaped by Jean Louis le Guine. But the one from the action shot is a 10’6” Rob Vaughan. The difference between the two is that the one I rode has a bit more length and more volume overall, which is so important.
After Shane’s visit, seeing his boards and what he does with them I changed dimensions with Rob, now they’re flat and way more heavy… kind of more paddle board style than gunny. You want to sit out of the water to paddle and not be down in amongst the chops. We’re working on an 11’3” now… no excuses!”
