Mick Fanning backed up last year’s Quik Pro France victory with another on Saturday, this time at pumping Culs Nuls. After the final, losing finalist 9-time World Champ Kelly Slater apparently had a nasty two wave hold down which he described as being the closest he’s come to drowning anywhere. With Hawaii comparisons a plenty being thrown down all round during the webcast, Kelly’s apparent brush with the dirt nap confirms the weight of the ocean at the Quik Pro France site in Hossegor.
Meanwhile, the day after is still solid and with south winds, so a session of epic proportions is probably going down at Mundaka right now, low tide is in about an hour. It’s probably gonna be mental. The worlds best are probably getting shacked off their dials in the rivermouth. Im not, I’m online. Then about to go for dinner, which is pretty lame.
