BEST GREETINGS FROM GERMANY

Last week the waves in Europe were a flat as a witch’s tit. In Portugal, Nazare was the only wave breaking and in Peniche the Rip Curl Pro Portugal was on hold. In France, while it was sunny and offshore, the one foot dribblers were only appealing to groms and the biggest of fish heads. So when these photos appeared in our inbox, with the heading ‘Best Greetings From Germany” we were intrigued.  Lars Kossowski, the surfer in the shots, was pretty pumped. “This was a solid north-west swell and everything came together. Offshore winds, a 10sec period and 1.9m swell. 5 hours of surfing. Pure perfection.” Of course pure perfection is a relative term, and while you wouldn’t compare these waves to Desert Point,  Lars did surf it alone while his old man Karsten (in an incredible act of fatherly love) stood on the beach and took the photos. Lars was also good enough to cough up the bare geographic bones of his Germanic perfection saying, “It’s on the island of Sylt in Germany,  somewhere in the south. It would be great if you could link my surf crew on the post here.” No worries Lars, and if anyone wants to blow open their secret session, head to our Facebook page and load up!

“Dad, did you get it, did you get it?”
