Alana Blanchard is among a list of global celebrities to have had their iCloud accounts hacked and nude/topless photos leaked online.
The Kauaian surf star, who has one of the highest profiles in surfing with over a million Instagram followers (more than Kelly Slater and 5 time women’s World Champ Steph Gilmore put together) has fallen victim to hacking along with stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Winona Ryder and Kelly Brook.
Hunger Games star Lawrence spoke out in Vanity Fair yesterday saying, “It’s not a scandal, it’s a sex crime.” The actress goes on to express anger not only at the hackers, but anyone viewing or attempting to view the images. “Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offence. You should cower with shame.”
Posting about Alana’s inclusion in the ‘Fappening’, first seen on Australian surf website Stab, seems to have sparked the outrage and moral indignation of the comments boards, with many of the web world’s self-appointed moral arbiters expressing disgust at the mere mentioning of the story. Not posting links to the stolen pictures, much less the photos themselves, but just reporting about the incident.
Blanchard, who is in Portugal with boyfriend Jack Freestone at the Cascais Billabong Pro Prime series event has as yet not spoken publicly on the matter.
